August is Washington Wine month!
And we have the best-of-the-best Washington wines at Cellar 46!
- If you like big cherry fruit with a nice balance of acid and a dry finish try Reserve 2003 Kiona Sangiovese Red Mountain. A nice wine for the dinner table at $20.
- Cuillin Hills The Dungeon 2005 Syrah is blended from the wine of three Washington state vineards. Winemaker - Derek DesVoigne $27.
- If Cabernet is calling you and you like a great nose of chocolate and ripened blackberries then Syzygy 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla should be on your list to try. From Conner Lee and Sagemoor vineyards it is aged 21 months in French oak barrels. $32.
- You can't go wrong with a'Maurice Chardonnay 2005. Grapes are handpicked, crushed in small batches, and barrel-aged to produce a wine at $28 with a unique personality. Much like the winermaker herself, Anna Schafer, from Mercer Island. And don't miss our Saturday, August 28th, wine tasting when Anna will be here pouring several of her wines!
- Stevens Athought 2006 from Yakima Valley is not your average Sauvignon Blanc. This one is light on acid, big on fruit and sports and enticing floral nose. This limited release is best served with sunny weather. $19
- And for those who like their viogniers more refined try Mark Ryan Winery Ciel du Cheval Vineyard 2006. From Red Mountain this is one of two viogniers of this vintage. This one used de-stemmed grape clutches and is very elegant at $29.
Don't get left out in the cold! The recent release of the 2004 Chester-Kidder is a perfect fall and winter red but you’ll need to buy now because allocations of the 2004 Longshadows Chester-Kidder are limited. Visit AWineStore.com to place your order or purchase at Cellar 46.
